Weight Loss Hypnosis in Washington DC
You already know what to eat. That was never the problem.
Nobody arrives here needing a lecture about vegetables.
You have done this before. You have probably done it well. You have had the month where it all clicked, where you felt light and clear and slightly smug, and you thought, this time it is different.
And then there was a Tuesday. A hard week. A bad phone call. And somehow you were standing in the kitchen at nine at night, eating something you had not decided to eat, watching yourself do it.
That gap between knowing and doing is the whole thing. It is not a gap in your information. It is not a gap in your character. It is a gap between two different parts of your mind, and only one of them reads articles.
The One That Reaches Is Not the One That Reads
There is a part of you that plans. It buys the good food, sets the alarm, means every word of it.
And there is another part that simply reaches. It does not deliberate. It does not remember the plan. It has been doing this particular thing at this particular hour for eleven years and it sees no reason to stop now.
Willpower is you standing between those two, all day, every day, with your arms out. It works. It is also exhausting, and it only has to slip once.
Hypnosis goes around the argument entirely and works with the part that reaches.
Nobody Here Will Tell You What to Eat
This is hypnosis. No diets are assessed here, no eating plans designed, no food lists handed out, and nobody is told what to eat. What you eat and how you move is between you, your physician, and a licensed dietitian if you have one.
The work goes at everything underneath the plan. The automatic reaching. The eating that has nothing whatsoever to do with hunger. The motivation that is thunderous in January and gone by March. The voice that turns one unplanned evening into a reason to abandon the entire thing.
If you have a plan that works when you follow it, the job is to make following it feel ordinary instead of heroic.
Before You Book
Weight work is not right for everybody, and better said here than in your first session.
If you have been diagnosed with, are being treated for, or believe you may have an eating disorder, no weight work happens here without a written referral from your treating physician or licensed provider. This is not a formality. Weight-focused work can make those conditions worse, and the right help for them is specialized and it is somewhere else.
That means a clinical diagnosis such as anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder, identified by a licensed practitioner. Those are specific conditions. They are not a description of anybody who sometimes eats more than they meant to.
So, plainly, here is what absolutely does belong here, because people talk themselves out of calling over this.
Cravings. Comfort food. Eating at night. Finishing the packet. Standing at the fridge with the door open. The sleeve of biscuits after a rotten day. Grazing all evening without really noticing. Eating because you are bored, or tired, or lonely, or furious, and not because you are hungry. Going properly overboard now and then and feeling wretched about it afterward.
All of that is ordinary. It is extremely common. It is most of what walks through the door. None of it needs a referral and none of it makes you a difficult case. Cravings and comfort eating are not disorders. They are habits, and habits are what hypnosis is for.
If you are not sure which side of that line you are on, your physician can tell you, and the free consultation is a reasonable place to talk it through first.
Stress Eating Is Not a Disorder Either
A great many people eat more during hard stretches. A brutal year at work. A divorce. Grief. A move, a new baby, a diagnosis in the family.
Food is the fastest comfort there is. It is right there in the kitchen at eleven at night. It asks nothing of you, it never lets you down, and it does not want to talk about it.
For most people that pattern tracks the circumstances. It shows up when life gets heavy and it eases off when things settle. That is a habit that formed under pressure, and it is one of the most ordinary things human beings do.
What makes something clinical is not how much a person ate on a bad Tuesday. It is a particular pattern with particular features, identified by a licensed practitioner who has sat down with you. No website can tell you that, this one included, and be wary of any practice that offers to.
If this is stress eating that arrived with a hard year and you know it, that is squarely the kind of thing this work is for.
If You Are Taking a Weight Loss Medication
Some people are prescribed medication for weight, and for them it can make a real difference. Whether it is right for you, whether to start, whether to continue and for how long, are decisions for you and your physician. There are clinical criteria for prescribing them and your doctor applies them. That conversation belongs in their office, not on a hypnosis website.
There is one thing worth knowing, because the question comes up constantly.
The medication works on appetite while you are taking it. It does not touch what you reach for when you are exhausted, or what a difficult evening does to your resolve, or a twenty-year habit of eating standing up in the kitchen. All of that is sitting underneath, unchanged. A trial that followed people for a year after they stopped semaglutide found they regained roughly two thirds of the weight they had lost, and its authors concluded that ongoing treatment is required to maintain the result.
Wilding, J. P. H., Batterham, R. L., Davies, M., Van Gaal, L. F., and colleagues (2022). Weight regain and cardiometabolic effects after withdrawal of semaglutide: the STEP 1 trial extension. Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, 24(8), 1553 to 1564.
Please do not read that as a reason to come off your medication. It is not one, and that decision belongs to you and your doctor. What it means is that the habit layer does not sort itself out while you are not looking. It waits.
So the best possible time to change it is while you have the room to. That layer is what the work goes at, and it is the same work whether you are on medication or not.
A referral is required here. If you are taking a prescribed weight loss medication, a written referral from the prescribing physician is required before anything starts. It keeps your doctor in the loop, which is how it should be.
What Actually Happens
It starts with a free consultation, and it is a conversation rather than an assessment. What you have tried. What tends to happen. What you want to be different. It is also where you get told honestly if hypnosis is not the right fit, and pointed somewhere better.
After that, nothing is off a template, because the moment it falls apart is never the same twice. For one person it is the drive home. For another it is finishing what the children left on their plates. For another it is that food is the only thing in the entire day that belongs to her and nobody wants a piece of it.
Your moment is the one that gets worked on. Not weight in the abstract. Yours.
Stress comes into it for almost everybody, so relaxation is part of the work. Not as a pleasant extra. Because somebody running at full tension all day makes entirely different decisions at nine at night than the same person makes rested.
What You Get
Programs are built around your life and your budget, and every one of them includes:
Private hypnosis sessions with audio support to use between them.
Recordings to reinforce the work at home, and written materials to go with them.
A do-over of any session you are not happy with, at no charge.
The Stay-With-You Commitment.
The Stay-With-You Commitment
For as long as you are actively working your program, you have ongoing support and up to one free session a month. In writing.
To be straight about what that is: it is a commitment about support and your satisfaction with it. It is not a promise of any particular number on a scale, and nobody honest can give you that. What it does promise is that nobody disappears on you halfway through.
Better With a Buddy
Bring a friend and it is buy one, get one at half price. And yes, you can split the saving between you.
For Women
The women who come in describe the same shape of problem again and again. A day organized entirely around other people. Eating that happens standing up, between things. The quiet certainty that when the week turns difficult, their own plan will be the very first thing to go.
So that is what gets worked on. Making the habit strong enough that it does not depend on willpower surviving a bad week, and turning down the voice that turns one difficult day into a lost month.
For Men
The men who come in more often describe inconsistency rather than effort. They can go hard for three weeks. It is the doing it moderately for a year that never quite happens.
So the work goes at making the routine automatic enough to survive travel, long hours and the weeks when the motivation simply is not there, so that progress stops depending on how you happen to feel that morning.
Come and Talk
The first conversation is free and there is nothing to commit to. You talk about what you are dealing with, what the programs involve, and whether this is the right thing for you right now. If it is not, you get told so, and pointed somewhere better.
